Hebrews 12:11- No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening- it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
Recently I have been given the opportunity to be in leadership roles. At my job and at church. I can fill my flesh and spirit constantly fighting one another. I’ve been put in uncomfortable situations and feel like God has put a hold on certain things I’ve been looking for.
As I’m walking through it, I have been seeking Jesus in prayer and fasting. Constantly wanting to hear from Him. And for months I heard nothing, which can be frustrating because we want things on our time. Recently God brought me a word from a family member and ever since I started seeing it more daily. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
This week’s message is to encourage you as well as myself to trust God’s plan. Even when your put in uncomfortable situations and you want to quit. Think of how you can be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever you are. How can you grow if you’re not challenged. Look at Jeremiah, He went to God complaining because wicked people prospered, he faced rejection and persecution, felt discouraged and despair, and was overwhelmed by the mission God gave him.
God didn’t always answer right away, He encourages us to express ourselves when things are great and bad. In those moments of silence, we have to trust that God is still present He reminded Jeremiah of His plan and justice, reassured him of His plan, and strengthen Jermiah instead of scolding. Which shows His heart how patient He is with us.
Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing us with another day. We’re thankful to have you in our lives and being able to have our relationships with you. I pray that you feel our minds with peace Jesus. That you silence the lies of the enemy and schemes that we cannot see. Allow us to move in your spirit and to lean more on you when we feel overwhelmed. Continue to use, watch over, and bless us this week. In Jesus name, Amen.
