John 4:42 “Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the savior of the world.”
This encounter starting off with Jesus and the Samaritan woman is important and one we should always keep in mind. She was able to experience Jesus when she felt lower than others. He encouraged her through hope, acceptance, and revelation. He told her everything she ever did to show who he was. She then went out to share the good news of his arrival to others.
The bible says some people believed in Jesus from what the lady experienced. Others didn’t believe until they heard his message themselves. Most times our testimony is enough to spark curiosity. But hearing from God himself creates personal belief and switches faith from secondhand to firsthand. There are people in the world with God empty holes searching for things they can only find in Jesus.
It is so important to share our testimonies, the bible says in Revelation 12:11 our testimonies are so powerful, it helps overcome the enemy. In Psalm 107:2 if God has saved you, you’re called to share it. During my mission trip to Mexico, I shared my testimony during the youth event. I had to lay everything down and leave nothing out because I knew despite me being uncomfortable someone in the room needed to hear.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this week’s message. I pray that you bless us with your boldness and allow us to move in your spirit. You are a faithful and loving God and we are so blessed to have your presence with us. Thank you for leaving the 99 for the 1 and allowing us to follow in your footsteps, in Jesus name, Amen.
